Black Friday Collaborative Hike 2025

Every year on Black Friday, people go outside and enjoy nature instead of packing into stores. This movement is called #OptOutside and was started by REI (Recreational Equipment, Inc.).

In the DMV area, we celebrate this movement  with a collaborative hike. On November 28, 2025, Black Friday, multiple hike groups from Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, joined up for a 4 mile hike at Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro, MD. There was at least 200 people there from at least 13 hiking crews. Young and old, we brought the pets out too 🐾.

It was a great way to spend Black Friday! We hope to see you there next year.
