DMV Winter Trail Runs (2025 – 2026)

Winter Trail Series is an annual event comprised of a rotating set of trail-running meetups held throughout the DC–Maryland–Virginia region.

The Winter Trail Series is organized by RunJuneteenth organization. The weekly trail runs also include shoe demos sponsored by REI. Runners will get the chance to test shoes on local trails in the DMV area. The trail routes range from 2 to 8.5 miles. all runs are free but registration is required. Week 1 – December 14, 2025 (7 miles)

Week 2 – December 21, 2025 (10K/ 6.2 miles)

[VA] Lake Fairfax Park [DC] Roosevelt Island

Week 3 – December 28, 2025 (8.5 miles)

[MD] Schaeffer Farms Trail

Week 4 – Sunday, January 4, 2026 (2 miles)

[DC] Roosevelt Island

Week 5 – January 11, 2026 (4 miles)

[VA] Lake Accotink

Week 6 – January 25, 2026 (10k/ 6.2 miles)

[MD] Patapsco Valley State Park – Hollofield Area

Week 7 – February 8, 2026 (7 miles) [Note:: This is a difficult run]

[VA] Cross County Trail **MEET @ REI-FAIRFAX**

Week 8 – February 15, 2026 (8 miles)

[MD] Greenbelt Park **MEET @ REI-DC**
